Registration for volunteers is now open! We have a variety of positions available and offer very flexible shifts. Our volunteers are a diverse and dynamic group that love working together to make Ice on Whyte fun for all ages.
Chainsaw Wally here! Ice On Whyte 2012 wrapped up on Sunday night, January 22, and whoohee what a time we had! A huge crowd pleaser was the 10 foot fire and ice chimney that lit up the sky on Sunday at End of Steel Park. Yessir, ya got that right: the 'chimney' was made of ice bricks! They lit a big fire in the middle and then the hunderds and hunderds of people watched as fire licked inside, and out the top of, the ice!

10. Frozen Friday Karaoke on Friday, Jan 20 from 7 - 9 PM in the heated YESS Cafe tent. Enjoy a hot bevvie too!
9. Interactive kids' play area - with giant ice slide (!), ice maze, mini ice slides and Kid Eating Snow Monster sculpture!
Things are really heatin' up as we head to the final weekend o' the Ice On Whyte Festival in Old Strathcona and the Alberta-Heilongjiang 30th Anniversary Winter Festival at the Alberta Legislature Grounds...
Chainsaw Wally here! We have closed the gates for Wednesday, Jan 18 and cancelled activities and entertainment for today. We'll update you again on Thursday as to whether the park and activities will be closed for that day too. But because o' them howling winds and extremely frosty temperatures we're a-gonna make up for it on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a blow-out of our own!

Ice on Whyte is presented by the Ice on Whyte Festival Society, and has successfully grown through the continued support of many community minded businesses and organizations, and the dedication of volunteers and artists.
