Extreme Weather Prompts Schedule Changes & Massive Meltdown Party Weekend!

Chainsaw Wally here!  We have closed the gates for Wednesday, Jan 18 and cancelled activities and entertainment for today.  We'll update you again on Thursday as to whether the park and activities will be closed for that day too.  But because o' them howling winds and extremely frosty temperatures we're a-gonna make up for it on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a blow-out of our own!

We got us some mean ol' weather here, ain't no doubt.  So when life gives you lemons - make lemonade popsicles--and have yourselves the pardeee of a lifetime! 

That's just what we's a-planning to do here at Ice On Whyte.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Jan 20 - 22)

Live Music on the Northlands Stage in the heated YESS Cafe Tent, featuring:

Friday, Jan 20:

  • 7 - 9 PM Frozen Friday Karaoke

Saturday, Jan 21:

  • 2 - 4 PM County Music with The Dungarees
  • 4:30 - 6:30 PM Off the Rails with Brainwreck
  • 7 - 9 PM: Real Original Rock with Brendan Kelly

Sunday, Jan 22:

  • 3 - 5 PM Command Sisters, NEK Trio & Braden Gates

And at Ice On Whyte's End of Steel Park, here are our Saturday and Sunday activities:

  • 2 - 8 PM Ice Carving Demonstrations

  • 2 - 8 PM Ice Stack-Off by Artists in Residence

  • Outdoor Games with City of Edmonton Recreation Staff

  • On-Site Food Vendors

  • Family Skating

  • Coffee and Hot Chocolate in the YESS Cafe

  • Ice Lantern Making Lessons - Light Up the Site

  • Meet Chainsaw Wally!

Sunday, Jan 22 - Festival Meltdown Finale!!!

  • 5 PM: Fire and Ice Chimney
  • 8:30 - 9:30 PM Lion Dance on Pedestals in the Catalyst Theatre
    (Limited Seating, $5 per person or free with Ice on Whyte Hand Stamp)
