Visit End of Steel Street in the CTV Entertainment Tent and meet ordinary people from our past that have made extraordinary contributions to our past, present and futures.

  • January 26 to 29:
    Alex Decoteau, award winning athlete, 1st Aboriginal Police officer in Canada, WWI soldier
    Anthony Henday, one of Canada’s great explorers
    Richard Hardisty, Chief Factor at Fort Edmonton
  • February 2 to 4:
    William Jarvis, a Northwest Mounted Police officer
    William Pace, directs the Yukon and Pacific Railway crossing the High Level Bridge into Strathcona
    Margaret Martin, a women ahead of her time who raised 9 children, built a house, held pink teas and more

Mural Painting Workshop


Thursday, January 26 & February 2
Pre-register for a 1 hour tile painting workshop between 5 pm and 9 pm. Your artwork will be compiled with 500 tile paintings into a mural that tells the story of Old Strathcona. This mural will be unveiled in Old Strathcona on Canada Day 2017! Sign-up below.

    Prints of the mural that you helped to create will be on sale for $15 each at the Paint Spot after the festival. Would you like to be notified when they are ready?
