What is my time commitment for volunteering?
The shifts for volunteering for Ice on Whyte are 4 hours long and the festival asks that you commit to a minimum of 5 shifts (20 hours).
Do I need previous volunteer experience?
We are happy to accept new volunteers! While experience is an asset, we are pleased to provide pre-festival training and on-site support.
Can I apply to volunteer if I have a student visa?
Of course! The Ice on Whyte Festival is proud of the cultural diversity of the City of Edmonton and encourages volunteers from all backgrounds to interact with visitors.
Can I volunteer now?
Yes please. The volunteer registration is now open!
How old do I have to be to volunteer?
In order to ensure the safety of visitors, volunteer opportunities are designed for individuals that are 16 years of age and older. If you are between the ages of 14- 16 years of age, please contact us to arrange for parental permission.
I signed up to volunteer but can no longer come – what should I do?
If you are unable to volunteer or need to cancel a shift you please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org 24 hours in advance of the start of your shift. We will reschedule you for another date and time if possible.
